What was JDM: Rise of the Scorpion?
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion was a prologue that introduced players to the world of JDM: Japanese Drift Master. The story followed Hatori “Scorpion” Hasashi, a young and arrogant drifter who dominated the local motorsport scene. Known for his ruthless attitude and unmatched skills, Scorpion quickly became the center of attention.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion was officially closed on February 3rd, 2025.
The prequel and its story
The prologue explored Scorpion’s early career, intense rivalries, and victories while showcasing his proud and confrontational personality, which caused tension within the community. These events laid the groundwork for the story that unfolded in the full game, JDM: Japanese Drift Master.
In the full game, set eight years later, Tomasz “Touma” Stanowski stepped onto the Japanese drifting scene as an ambitious yet inexperienced driver. Hatori, now a seasoned and even more determined rival, became one of Touma’s greatest challenges. The echoes of Scorpion’s past shaped their tense and dynamic rivalry, connecting the two stories seamlessly.
